The Securety Tips app is a free application developed by the Japan Tourism Agency that notifies users of EEW, Tsunami, Volcanic, Weather, Heat Illness, and Civil Protection Information issued in Japan. It is available in five languages: English, simplified and traditional Chinese, Korean, and Japanese. Users can select up to five locations in Japan to receive warnings and notifications for, and the app provides various useful functions for foreign tourists, including information on past earthquakes, weather warnings, currently issued volcanic warnings and heat illness warnings, a list of medical facilities accepting foreigners, evacuation advice and instruction, learning materials, communication cards, emergency contacts, and links to other sources of information. The app requires users to activate the Location Information Service (GPS) to set locations and display the user's current location on the map. Communication charges related to the download and use of the application shall be borne by the user, and the app and its developers will not be liable for any losses or damages resulting from the use of the application.
